The Euricom Group expanded in the past few years by fully acquiring or taking control of several companies and brand names or labels.
This expansion had two main purposes: first, to diversify the offer and create commercial synergies in the export and food aid sectors.
Second, to link this enormous productive capacity to successful brand names on the Italian market, and being able in the process to reach the greater part of consumers through organised trade
or supermarket chains. It must be noted here that the commercial importance of rice and pasta in
Europe is different not only from country to country, but even from region to region in Italy itself, and is greatly affected by the individual food traditions.
The markets are very different one from the other. Eachone demands different varieties of rice, keeping traditional food habits and new trends.
Nevertheless, since food becomes more and more internationalised, rice (and pasta) will take a greater strategic relevance. "Paella" is not served only in Valencia or in Spain anymore, nor is
